    International Opportunities:

    Pentel of Am. LTD.

    Local Opportunities:
    Marlborough Arts Center (MAC)

Student work is entered into International competition annually. The international contest and exhibition is sponsored by Pentel of America. A sampling of student work is submitted to Pentel in October. The work is sent to California for level one judging. Selected pieces are then forwarded to Japan for final judging. Results are announced in June. Students that place in this arena are provided with a gold, silver, or bronze medal and a certificate with the prime ministers seal. They are also provided with supplies to continue their art production.

    Annual Art Exhibit:

    MES Annual Art Exhibit

Every attempt is made to display work by all students (K-6) during this show. The exhibit showcases student talents and provides a sampling of work which represents the art curriculum for the current school year. In addition to pieces created during school, students are invited to submit art that they have created outside of school. The evening includes refreshments for all.  A highlight of the evening is the presentation of the annual art award. The Christopher Conway Colburn Award is presented to a student who demonstrates talents beyond their years. It is given in remembrance of a former, very talented, student. Students who are presented this award have their names engraved on a plaque that is displayed in school, as well as receive their own plaque and art supplies.
